This fungus is first identified in Japan in 2009,later it spread to many countries in world
Specially in US, Uk, India. CDC have labelled the fungus as a growing threat to public health as it has a mortality rate of up to 60 per cent.
US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) tracking the fungus, informed a total of 28 states and the District of Columbia have confirmed reporting the infections.
It causes bloodstream, wounds and ear infections
study stated that the fungus had spread to more than 30 countries since its first sighting in 2009
It can spread easily to hospitals and health care facilities as person to person.
Antifungal drugs called echinocandins is used to treatthis type of fungus.
